Cradle Hill Community Primary School

Year 1

Welcome to the Home Learning page for Year 1! Please use the following ideas for home learning with your child.  Feel free to email us, we are here to support you and would love to hear what you have been learning at home! Our emails can be found at the bottom of this page.

Quick Links to Learning Platforms

All children should have their individual logins at home for the following learning platforms and be using these regularly:

Bug Club  Numbots

In the event of school closure, we may need to move to online learning. For this, we use Tapestry. This allows us to upload work and resources for your child, which you can access from home. You will also be able to send your child's work to their teacher for feedback.

Other ways to help your child at home

BBC Bitesize follow the Year 1 National curriculum for Maths, English and Foundation Subjects. They have weekly schedules, so you can plan ahead of what content you would like to use. There are high-quality lessons and online resources, which include videos, worksheets and online quizzes. New lessons daily.

BBC Bitesize Lessons

Listen to a story a day together. Your child should spend time every day reading aloud to an adult.  Our focus at school is on stamina, fluency and understanding.  Please see the new 'Bug Club' link above for comprehension, grammar and spelling activities.  Each child has a log in for Bug club, details of this are included in the link above.

Phonics to support independent writing
