Cradle Hill Community Primary School

School Development Plan

Our Key Priorities this year and how you can support at home are:

Continue to develop Mastery in Mathematics approach across the school.

We started this approach across the school last year and will be continuing to embed this year. We are excited to be able to tell you that one of our staff, Miss E. Parks, has been recruited as a Lead Mastery Specialist for the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics (NCETM). She is one of around 700 primary specialists working across the country and having her expertise in school will certainly be brilliant for us!

All children from Year 2 onwards have access to TT RockStars from any computer, tablet or phone, regular practice in this will support children with their Mathematics.

We also use My Maths to support children in Mathematics from Year 1 onwards. The children will have brought home a letter with the log in details but if not please ask your child's class teacher for this information.

If you would like to find out more about this approach please follow this link.

Ensure all children make good progress and develop a love and positive attitude towards Reading.

Encouraging children to read regularly at home and listening to them read is a really important way for parents to support their children whether they are in Reception or Year 6. Regular reading will also have a positive impact on the children's writing.

Ensure attendance is above National average for all groups.

We recognise that there are lots of reasons why some children's attendance may be low and want to support parents in partnership to improve attendance. If you have any concerns about your child's attendance please contact Mrs Andrea Keith, Mrs Julie Foley or Mrs Jude Smith.
