Cradle Hill Community Primary School

School Closure - Key Worker Information

Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to all those who have already made contact with us regarding childcare provision. We will aim to contact all that we believe are key workers and parents of our most vulnerable children to discuss their individual circumstances by the end of the day tomorrow but we apologise in advance if it takes longer than we hoped. We are, as I know you will all understand, very busy and facing incredibly challenging times.

Our main intent during the time of the forced closure of schools will be to provide childcare, not education, for front line workers so that they can continue their incredibly important roles in keeping our country going and battling against the pandemic. It is important to note that the school will be running with a much smaller number of staff than usual and it is important to be mindful that there is a still a national recommendation to socially isolate where possible. It is vital that the vast majority of our children stay at home.

We are grateful that many of our front line workers have already contacted us to say they have other arrangements in place and our priority will be in ensuring that those key workers who need to be at work and there is no other option at home can send their children to us during the hours they are working.

At present our intention is to be open from 8.45am until 3.15pm although obviously this is a changing picture as it remains essential we ensure the health, safety and welfare of children, staff, parents and their families when we are open. We are in communication with other schools and nursery providers to explore options of extending this care.

Thank you for your understanding and support. I would also like to say thank you for all the kind messages and offers of support we are receiving from our community.

Best wishes

 Mrs Keith
