50 Things To Do Before You're 5
Dear Parents and Carers
I’m currently working with East Sussex County Council on a new initiative called ’50 Things to do Before You’re 5’. It takes a child centered approach, with a focus on the development of speech, language and communication skills in children aged birth to five.
Each one of the 50 things will be a fun activity for the child to take part in with his or her caregiver; the activities can be found on the ‘50 Things’ App and they also come in a handy keyring book.
I’m looking for families to volunteer trialing some of the activities, which are either free or low cost, over the Easter holidays. The activities you choose from the app/book are completely up to you. You will then be asked to fill out a questionnaire which will help identify the links between language and the activities you undertook. Any feedback will be greatly received, including ideas of activities that are specific to East Sussex.
Anyone who works with, or has an interest in the development of young children is welcome to get on board. You could be anyone from a parent, relative or family friend to a health visitor, midwife or paediatrician.
