Queens 90th Birthday Street Party

The whole school celebrated the Queens 90th Birthday on 10th June 2016 by coming to school dressed in red white and blue.  The day started with a ‘hunt the crown’ competition, when all the children searched for hidden crowns around the school grounds.  The lucky children who found a crown with a winning number won a prize.  During the day, the children also took part in a ‘Paint the Queen’ competition.

At 2pm the whole school celebrated by holding a street party in the Key Stage 1 playground which was sponsored by Morrisons of Seaford who provided all the decorations and tableware and Brewers Decorators of Seaford provided the table cloths in the form of wallpaper rolls which the children decorated.  The children sat down to party food, and the results of the ‘Paint the Queen’ competition were announced.  Throughout the party, the children were listening to music and every time the National Anthem was played the children stood up and sang it! They all went home with a commemorative coin bought by the school’s PTFA to remember this special day.  All staff, parents, and the PTFA worked as a team to make the day fun.
