I am a born and bred Seafordian. I am married with two adult sons and currently two cats! I trained as a teacher and went on to become a primary Head Teacher. I have always been fascinated to develop my understanding of how children learn and I am still keen to continue learning. To this end I gained a Master’s Degree looking into how best to support children with additional and different needs. Being allowed to be a Governor at Cradle Hill means I can continue to use and develop the skills I have.

Whilst in Wandsworth a ran for 20 years several youth clubs on a voluntary basis and was a fund raiser for the then named Royal Hospital & Home for Incurables Putney for a similar period of time.

In May 1999 I was elected a Town Councillor and enjoyed 4 years serving the community being Chairman of the Finance Committee for 2 years. I played club cricket for 40 years before retiring aged 57.

In 2000 I joined the Governors of Cradle Hill, as the Towns’ representative, since 2003 I have continued serving as a Community Governor and consider it to be an honour to be a Governor of such a wonderful Community Spirited School as Cradle Hill.

I am delighted to lead such a wonderful school as Cradle Hill CP School. I have been here since September 2014 but I have been a Head Teacher since 2004. We are lucky to have such a strong team of governors to support our school. They bring a wide range of skills and talents and we put them all too good use.   On a personal note, as a mother and grandmother my time is split between work and family but I still find time to walk the dog, read, dance, ski occasionally and support West Ham Football Club

Cradle Hill is a school which is very dear to me and I feel privileged to have been part of the school for 30 years, joining as a Newly Qualified Teacher in 1986 and I have had many other roles since then. I have taught in every year group, been Deputy Head since 2009 and also enjoyed a year as Acting Head Teacher in 2013 to 2014.

I have lived in Seaford for 26 years and have found it to be a wonderful, warm community. I have been married for 27 years and have two grown up daughters, both of whom attended Cradle Hill for their Primary Education. As a family we love spending our weekends walking along the seafront or over the Downs. We never fail to appreciate the natural beauty of this area.

I am immensely proud of Cradle Hill School achievements and as a Governor, as well as Deputy Head, I am delighted that I can be involved in shaping the future of the school as we drive towards achieving Outstanding status.
